The Queen Anne’s County State’s Attorney’s Office assisted the Kent County State’s Attorney’s Office with specially prosecuting a case that occurred in May of 2014 in which Norvel Thompson, 54, of Worton, Maryland pointed a loaded shotgun at his wife during an argument at their residence in Kent County, Maryland.
Assistant State’s Attorney Jennifer Doud was requested to prosecute this case by the Kent County State’s Attorney due to a conflict of interest in the matter. On January 26, 2015 this case was presented to a Kent County Jury who found Mr. Thompson guilty of assault, reckless endangerment and unlawful possession of a shotgun.
Thompson was sentenced by a Kent County Circuit Court Judge on March 17, 2015 to 8 years in the Division of Corrections.
