On January 15, 2019, Stephanie Anne Twigg of Millington, MD pled guilty to a theft scheme of more than $25,000 but less than $100,000 in the Circuit Court for Queen Anne’s County. An investigation by the Maryland State Police and the Queen Anne’s County State’s Attorney’s Office revealed that, while employed at a Queen Anne’s County business, Twigg was responsible for its accounts receivable. During the course of her six months of employment, she stole approximately $45,000 in cash payments from the business. Twigg routinely informed the business’s clients that it only accepted cash payments, then pocketed the cash clients paid.

 

Twigg was sentenced to eight years of incarceration at the Maryland Department of Corrections. The case was prosecuted by Leigh Dillon, Assistant State’s Attorney
