On July 22, 2026, Joey Prerinze Ryans of Grasonville was found guilty of Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine and Tramadol. He was sentenced on August 28, 2026, to 20 years’ incarceration, three of those years to serve at the Division of Corrections, with 17 years suspended.  Following his release from incarceration, Mr. Ryans will be on four years of supervised probation.

The Queen Anne’s County Drug Task Force executed a search and seizure warrant at a property on Brownsville Road in Centreville. While Mr. Ryans was not the intended target of the investigation, he was located during the investigation and found to be in constructive possession of the drugs at issue.  A subsequent search of his cellular telephone revealed text messages between Mr. Ryans and unknown individuals regarding the sale of the cocaine and tramadol.  Mr. Ryan was prosecuted on a prior occasion for his involvement in the illegal drug trade in 2018.
