48 Year old James Clifton Hart, Jr. of Millersville, Maryland was sentenced to 18 months in jail for failure to pay child support for his minor child.  Mr. Hart was found guilty of the child support non-payment following a jury trial in the Queen Anne’s County Circuit Court on June 1, 2016.

Mr. Hart failed to pay his child support obligation since November 10, 2014.  Pursuant to a Court Order in a paternity case, Hart is obligated to pay $247.00 per month child support.

Sentencing in this matter was deferred until November 10, 2016 in order for Mr. Hart to maintain his employment and make payments towards his obligation.  He made one payment in the amount of $70.19 on June 6, 2016 but failed to make any payments after that date.  His current arrearage is currently $18,480.17.  In additional to his jail sentence a judgment against Hart for the outstanding balance has also been entered against him.
