On July 28, 2017, in the Queen Anne’s County Circuit Court, Robert Colin Bearden entered a plea of guilty to DUI per se, as a subsequent offender. The plea stems from a December 30, 2016 hit and run accident on the Kent Narrow Bridge. Bearden was crossing the Kent Narrows Bridge when he collided with another vehicle and failed to stop at the scene of the collision. The other driver followed Bearden’s vehicle until police arrived in the area and stopped Bearden. Bearden was subsequently arrested for DUI and related offenses and submitted to a chemical test of .24, the legal limit of intoxication in Maryland is .08. Mr. Bearden is scheduled to be sentenced on December 22, 2017, he is facing 2 years incarceration.
Mr. Bearden has prior convictions for assault, weapons violations, driving while suspended, fleeing and eluding from police and driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs.

Mr. Bearden is also facing serious traffic and criminal charges stemming from a personal injury motor vehicle accident that occurred in Anne Arundel County. That matter is set for a trial on December 12, 2017.
