Following a two day trial in the Queen Anne’s County Circuit Court a Queen Anne’s County Jury convicted Robert Lloyd Porter 3rd, 30, of Sudlersville, MD in connection with a kidnapping that took place on February 28, 2015.
Maryland State Police received a report from the victim indicating that they had met Mr. Porter and three other individuals at the Royal Farms store located at Rt. 544 and Rt. 213 to make a drug transaction. During the drug transaction, Mr. Porter pulled out a handgun and ordered the victim into a vehicle. The victim was bound with duct tape, beaten repeatedly and threatened to be killed by Mr. Porter and another individual. The victim was driven to several different locations during the kidnapping before being able to escape and contact police.
Mr. Porter was subsequently arrested by police and charged with 19 criminal offenses ranging from First Degree Assault, Kidnapping, Robbery and handgun violations. Following the two day trial Mr. Porter was convicted of First Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment, Kidnapping and the use of a handgun in the commission of a felony. He is scheduled to be sentenced on October 5, 2015 and is facing 80 years of incarceration.
