On July 17, 2018, in the Queen Anne’s County Circuit Court, Whitney Lynn Fleishman entered a plea of guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute Heroin. This plea stems from an investigation that began on April 7, 2018 following a traffic stop by the Maryland State Police for speeding on Corsica Neck Road in Centreville.  Troopers made contact with Ms. Fleishman who was the operator of that vehicle.  During the course of the traffic stop, the troopers discovered a baggie of suspected heroin at the feet of Ms. Fleishman.  The baggie, as well Ms. Fleishman’s cellular telephone, were seized.  The baggie of suspected drugs was confirmed by the Maryland State Police Crime Lab to be over five grams of heroin.  The Queen Anne’s County Drug Task Force applied for and received a search and seizure warrant to review the contents of the seized phone.  The review of information on the telephone, as well as the amount of heroin, confirmed that Fleishman intended to distribute the heroin.

Ms. Fleishman was sentenced to 15 years of incarceration to serve at the Maryland Division of Corrections.

Deputy State’s Attorney Christine Rickard prosecuted this case.
