On August 12, 2021, Queen Anne’s County State’s Attorney’s Office intern, Cody Pfeiffer, participated in a mock trial before the Honorable Lynn Knight of the Queen Anne’s County Circuit Court. Mr. Pfeiffer, acting as an Assistant State’s Attorney, prepared a felony case for trial. He examined witnesses, properly entered exhibits into evidence, gave eloquent opening and closing arguments and ultimately won the day with Judge Knight ruling in Mr. Pfeiffer’s favor and finding the defendant in his case guilty on all counts.

Mr. Pfeiffer is from the Centreville area and is currently a rising junior at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. Cody spent his Summer with the State’s Attorney’s Office watching live court cases, examining files, and learning the intricacies of criminal law. He also assisted office staff, on many levels, on a daily basis during his internship. State’s Attorney Lance Richardson stated “Cody is an extremely impressive young man with a very promising future and was a huge asset to our Office during his time here”.

The State’s Attorney’s Office wishes Cody the best of luck as he embarks on his journey to Spain this fall to further his studies.
