On September 1, 2021, Lance Richardson, State’s Attorney for Queen Anne’s County, filed with the Board of Elections to seek a fourth term as State’s Attorney in the November, 2022 election.  Mr. Richardson was appointed to the position of State’s Attorney in 2009, when the position was vacated by then State’s Attorney Frank Kratovil.  Mr. Richardson was formally elected to the position by the citizens of Queen Anne’s County in the November, 2010 election.  He has continued to serve the citizens of Queen Anne’s County, being re-elected to the position in 2014 and 2018.

Prior to being appointed State’s Attorney in 2009, Lance served as a Deputy State’s Attorney in Queen Anne’s County under Frank Kratovil.  Prior to joining the State’s Attorney’s Office, Lance was a defense attorney with the Office of the Public Defender. Mr. Richardson is supported on a daily basis by a staff that includes a Chief of Staff, (2) Deputy State’s Attorneys, (2) Assistant State’s Attorneys, (2) Victim/Witness Coordinators and (5) Legal Assistants.
