On October 2, 2024, Ta’Bron Latray Todd of Hurlock entered a plea of guilty to Possession with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine and the serious traffic offense of fleeing and eluding a police officer on foot. Mr. Todd was sentenced by the Hon. C. Lynn Knight of the Queen Anne’s County Circuit Court to 20 years, execution of the sentence suspended as to all but 18 years to serve on the drug offense and one year, suspended, consecutive, on the traffic offense. Upon his release from incarceration, Mr. Todd will be on 36 months of supervised probation.
This conviction is based on an April 13, 2024 incident in which Maryland State Trooper First Class Mulhearn and Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Deputies A. Johnston and W. Baer were on the look-out for a stolen vehicle. During attempts to make a stop on this vehicle, the driver fled. The vehicle pursuit ended in a foot chase behind the residence located at 605 Wye Mills Road in Wye Mills. When Mr. Todd was apprehended, he was in possession of suspected cocaine which was submitted for analysis at the Maryland State Police Crime Lab. The lab confirmed 11,892.2 grams of cocaine, a schedule II controlled dangerous substance which is over ten kilograms. Further investigation by the Queen Anne’s County Drug Task Force revealed that Mr. Todd possessed this cocaine with the intent to distribute it. Members of the Task Force estimated the street value of this cocaine to be over one million dollars.
Mr. Todd has a 2019 conviction from Talbot County for Possession with Intent to Distribute.
Christine Dulla Rickard, Deputy State’s Attorney, prosecuted Mr. Todd.
