Angela Marie Grimes, 25, of Dover, Delaware entered a guilty plea in the Queen Anne’s County Circuit Court on August 17, 2015 to conspiracy to commit kidnapping.
Maryland State Police conducted an investigation after a report was made by a man who stated he had been kidnapped from the Royal Farms at the intersection of Rt. 213 and Rt. 544. The victim reported that they met Angela Grimes and three other individuals at the store to conduct a drug transaction. The victim was then assaulted, thrown into a vehicle and driven to several locations. The victim was bound with duct tape and repeatedly beaten before being able to escape and report the crime to police. Police learned that Angela Grimes was the driver of the vehicle during the kidnapping.
This case was prosecuted by Christine Dulla Rickard, Deputy State’s Attorney. Grimes is scheduled to be sentenced on October 20, 2015 and is facing 30 years incarceration.
